You will meet your guide in her red apron at Stellenbosch Wine Route office for a 10h00 prompt start.

Then head off to find the mysterious island where Stellenbosch was founded. You’ll also enter the enchanting botanical gardens to collect the fragrant herbs used in local gins.

Along the way you’ll visit various food and drink stops, including:

  • a rustic eatery for home-grown teas and spice-infused sweet treats
  • an artisan bakery for fresh breadsticks
  • a family butchery for beef ‘biltong’
  • a luxurious gin bar for a “Five senses of Gin” tasting
  • and finish in the elegant, oldest hotel in the country for a traditional lunch platter.


Visit Stellenbosch office at 47 Church (aka 'Kerk') street , Stellenbosch Central, Stellenbosch 7600.

Do we only walk around and sample food?

Absolutely not! Our tours combine architectural commentary, historical facts, outdoor art, local culture and culinary insight into a unique 3.5-hour experience. Imagine walking through the city eating our local artisans’ most delicious foods while learning the neighborhoods from real locals.

Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?

Yes, advance ticket purchase is required. Events typically sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting the date, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance.

Does the tour come in other languages?
